A written financial plan, built around your life

Reviewed by Alex J. Potenza, CFP®, CPWA® · Last reviewed October 2026

Financial planning at Skyview is a written plan that connects your cash flow, investments, taxes, insurance, and estate documents into one strategy, then gets revisited as your life changes. It is designed for high-net-worth families, executives, business owners, and retirees, and delivered by a fee-only fiduciary based in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

01 / Scope

What's included in a Skyview financial plan?

Every plan is built from your actual numbers. The scope depends on your situation, but a comprehensive plan typically covers these areas.

  • Cash flow and savings strategy
  • Goal funding and timeline modeling
  • Debt structure and refinancing review
  • Insurance coverage review (Skyview does not sell insurance)
  • Education funding, including 529 plans and custodial accounts
  • Charitable giving and family wealth strategy
  • Estate document review, coordinated with your attorney
  • Review and recalibration at least annually, or on an agreed schedule
02 / Process

How does the planning process work?

Five steps, from the first conversation to ongoing review. We build and test the plan in RightCapital, the planning software we use.

  • Discovery: your goals, the people who depend on you, and your documents
  • Analysis: testing your current path against your goals
  • The written plan: what we recommend, why, and in what order
  • Implementation: accounts, coordination with your CPA, estate updates
  • Ongoing review: updates as your life and tax law change
03 / Clients

Who is financial planning for?

Planning matters most when the decisions are large and hard to reverse.

Frequently asked

Frequently asked questions

How often is the plan updated?

We formally review the plan at least annually, or on a schedule we agree on with you. We also revisit it when something material changes, such as a new job, a vesting event, an inheritance, the sale of a business, or a change in tax law. Updates focus on what changed and what it means for your decisions, rather than rebuilding the plan from scratch.

Do you prepare my tax return?

No. Skyview does not prepare or file tax returns. Our work is tax planning: projecting your bracket, timing income and deductions, and deciding which accounts to draw from. We coordinate those decisions with your CPA, who prepares and files your return. If you do not currently work with a CPA, we can talk through what to look for in one.

Do I need to move my accounts to work with you?

No. Skyview offers financial planning on its own, without managing your assets. A financial plan looks at everything you own, wherever it is held. Accounts Skyview manages are held at Fidelity or Charles Schwab in your name. Accounts held elsewhere, such as an employer 401(k), can still be included in the plan, and we can discuss whether consolidating them makes sense for you.

How are you paid?

Skyview is fee-only. We are paid only by our clients, and we do not receive commissions or payments from product sponsors. Our fee schedule, how fees are calculated, and how they are billed are described in our Form ADV Part 2A, which is available on the SEC's Investment Adviser Public Disclosure website. We review fees with you before any engagement begins.

What happens in the first meeting?

The first meeting is a complimentary Get Acquainted conversation, by phone, by video, or at our Ponte Vedra Beach office. We ask about your goals, your situation, and what prompted you to reach out. We explain how we work and how we are paid. There is no obligation. If it looks like a good fit, we outline next steps. If not, we say so.
